Medical Calculators — Guide and Features
The Medical Calculators bring together clinical scores and calculators—from BMI and GFR to CHA₂DS₂-VASc and the Wells score—in a web app. No installation, directly in the browser, Mobile Optimized for everyday ward work and KP exam preparation.
What are the Medical Calculators?
The Medical Calculators are a standalone web app at tools.kennti.com. It includes clinical scores and calculators you need in daily ward work and for the KP exam—everything on its own subdomain, streamlined and without unnecessary extras.
Available calculators include, among others: BMI, GFR (Creatinine clearance according to Cockcroft–Gault and MDRD), the CHA₂DS₂-VASc score to estimate stroke risk in Atrial Fibrillation, HAS-BLED to assess bleeding risk under anticoagulation, the Glasgow Coma Scale, the Child–Pugh score in Liver Cirrhosis, the Wells score for Pulmonary Embolism and deep vein thrombosis, as well as qSOFA for sepsis detection. Since everything runs in the browser, you do not need to install an app—and because the interface is Mobile Optimized, it works equally well on smartphone, tablet, and desktop.

The selected scores cover the calculators most frequently tested in the KP exam.
Step by step: How to use the Medical Calculators
- Open the calculators: Go to tools.kennti.com—the homepage lists all available calculators.
- Select a calculator: Click the desired score (e.g., CHA₂DS₂-VASc or Wells).
- Enter parameters: Enter the values in the input fields—the result is calculated in real time.
- Interpret the result: In addition to the numeric value, the scores provide a brief clinical interpretation.
- Save to your smartphone: Add tools.kennti.com to your home screen to launch the calculators like an app.
- Practice for KP: Work through typical patient scenarios repeatedly—developing a feel for score thresholds comes through Repetition.
Tips and Best Practices
- Memorize score cut-offs, not just calculate them: In the KP exam, you are often asked about cut-offs (e.g., CHA₂DS₂-VASc ≥ 2 → OAC recommended). Learn these thresholds alongside the calculations.
- Calculate realistically on the Ward: When you calculate the Wells score for a new Admission, compare your intuition with the calculated value—calibration is Learning.
- Choose the GFR formula deliberately: Cockcroft–Gault requires Weight; MDRD does not—clinically relevant in the Hospital if no scale is available.
- Combine with the Medication Atlas: Calculate GFR → look up dose adjustment in renal insufficiency in the atlas.
- Home screen shortcut: On iOS and Android, you can install tools.kennti.com like a native app—useful in the Operating Room area without internet access on personal devices.
